Aled Islwyn

Aled Islwyn is originally from Port Talbot but now lives in Cardiff and is regarded as one of the city's writers. He was educated at the University of Wales – Lampeter. His work often discusses the relationship between the individual and society, he places his magnifying glass on human nature. His first novel was published in 1977 and won the Daniel Owen Memorial prize in 1980 and 1985. His novel Individuals Unigities won the Daniel Owen prize at the National Eisteddfod in 1994 and and the Book of the Year award in 1995.
